With the economy down, budgets strained, and so many in a state of need, it's easy to feel like aloha, too, is in short supply. As a movement committed to preserving and promoting island values, it is our kuleana to help replenish the store.

We call on all Kanu Hawaii members, their ohana, friends and neighbors, to mobilize for a day of service and aloha on June 19, 2010. We envision hundreds across the islands working together in a spirit of compassion and understanding, to better our communities. We’d like to see service projects large and small, organized by Kanu members, empowering people to serve, building new relationships, and laying the foundation for a sustained commitment to service throughout the year.

Let’s celebrate each person’s capacity to contribute meaningfully to the community.
Let’s take care of each other, that we may all contribute our gifts.
Let’s do what we can, in the time we have, in the place we are.
Let's see ourselves and each other as members of a community beyond the people that we interact with on a daily basis.
Let's live aloha.
