This project will create space for interaction between the mothers, their children, and Kanu volunteers in a variety of ways. Part of the time will be spent doing a hands-on arts and crafts activity that encourages children at the shelter to think about the larger community. This will be followed by a clean-up/beautification of the shelter grounds by Kanu members and shelter residents. The day will end with Kanu volunteers and shelter mothers making sandwich lunches together, and a leisurely lunch before assisting with kitchen clean-up. If you have crafting ideas/talent, contact Brent Kakesako, bkakesako@gmail.com.
