Install at least one solar water heater at home or at your place of business. Help others to do the same by sharing information, and encouraging changes in policy (e.g., resident's association rules) if needed.

Eating vegan is not only healthy, it's environmentally sustainable. Raising animals for food is one of the largest sources of carbon dioxide and the single largest source of both methane and nitrous oxide emissions in the world. In a groundbreaking 2006 report, the United Nations stated that, "raising animals for food generates more greenhouse gases than all the cars and trucks in the world combined."

Visit www.itakethevow.com and consider taking a vow to honestly and sincerely promote peace within and with others. Join another community that can bring about change in the world. Be sure to check out Alliance video - short, but beautiful, and inspiring. I am thrilled with the possibility of the impact we Kanu members can have by sharing our vow towards non-violence!
Have a fantastic and peace filled day!

I will walk/catch the bus to work and to outings that don't require me bringing a lot of things. I will only use my car for grocery shopping and emergencies.

At times we are susceptible to the narrowing of the windows through which we look out at life. We pass the child playing in the dumpster on the side of the street, thinking it's sad, but not bringing that thought farther than that. No matter what age you are, what profession you're in, or your station in life, making a commitment to community service projects and activities is one of the best ways to make a real, measureable, and tangible impact on communities in need. There are literally thousands of opportunities to make a difference to at-risk youth, families, and communities...each one counts and each one will light up and in many cases motivate those who live in those communities, to do for themselves. Empowerment: the appreciation on someone's face when you do something nice for them, is nowhere near as joyous as when, while doing for them, you help them learn how to do for themselves.
