Yard waste is responsible for much of the landfill. Create a compost bin in your yard, compost and use for your garden or flowerbeds. Composting is easy and building a compost (from building materials lying around) is better than buying a plastic one from a gardening company. If you don't want to do your own composting, put it in the blue bins to be recycled by the City (if you have one) or take large amounts to the green waste City yard where it is made into compost. Also, if you don't compost, get free compost from the City's several sites rather than buying.
