For home, school, or office turn the lights off whenever a room is not occupied. At school: when the kids leave, just keep the set of lights that you need on.

I keep all the lights off most of the time. Even though many of my lights now use CFL bulbs, that doesn't mean I use them more. I'm always turning off lights other people leave on.
