About Me

I grew up in Hawai'i with a love for the ocean and my family. Every day, surf or no surf, you can find me mostly at Kaiko'os where the crowd is friendly and the ocean is clean. I went to Iolani High School and graduated from UC San Deigo with a degree in Communications and Film. I recently returned to Hawai'i from teaching English in Okinawa, Japan, with the JET Programme. As I followed the voyage of the Hokule'a through Japan, I realized my passion for connecting people through the ocean culture. I believe that in inspiring and actively engaging our youth, we can move forward towards a sustainable Hawaii. The vast ocean intrigues my spirit to learn from our past and reach beyond the horizon into the future, overcoming our greatest fears, and voyaging together towards one vision.

Why I Love Hawaii

People in Hawai'i take the time to look you in the eye, smile and talk story.
We live as one ohana where everyone is your aunty, uncle, and cousin.
You can always be outside, in the ocean or the mountains, and watching the stars at night with only shorts, slippers and a t-shirt.
The Spirit of Aloha...need I say more:)
