Got Aloha for a Teacher?
Born and raised in Texas, I made my way to Hawaii for my undergraduate studies at UHM. I left the island for two years after I graduated with my B.A., but I found myself longing for the island life. I came back to the islands in 2009 and moved out of town to Kailua this past year.
Hawaii has been a place of personal and intellectual growth. I have found a connection with my natural surroundings in a way that was lost on me growing up in Texas. I may not have been born in Hawaii, but I found my heart here and will forever feel at home on the islands.
