Maui Reef Fund - Earth Day Reef Clean Up

Maui Reef Fund members will be hosting their annual Earth Day reef clean-ups. Dive operators and volunteers will be retrieving and recycling lead fishing weights and line off the coral reef below. Maui Dive Shop and Maui Dream Dives Co. will take 16 diver's out each, to two popular fishing spots between the Scenic Lookout and the Pali tunnel on Maui.
Whenever fishing along the shoreline, the potential for line and weight “grabbers” getting wrapped up in the coral is high. Certain areas are very popular and can become extremely entangled.
