I've always loved the ocean;the sound of the waves,salty air,the sand&sun.But I haven't been going as much,which makes me sad.So go to the beach people,you'll fall in love(:

I hear this so often.........I live on an island too, but in a much colder part of the world. My dog takes me to the beach, twice a day, sometimes three times. I go to listen and I go to hope for a look at whales passing by. But I also go as part of my personal goal to help rid the ocean of plastic. Every day, I pick up plastic along the beach. Today, I picked up about two dozen bottle caps, a bunch of shotgun shells, and a toy shovel. Some balloons too. So, I think maybe I helped save an albatross, a honu, and fish too.........even whales who die from chemicals brought into the sea from plastic. At day end, I've gotten peace of mind from being close to the ocean and my dog is very happy.
