We just completed our second mural dedicated to water. Over 200 volunteers from the community in Oakland California helped to create a 5,500 square foot work of public art to raise questions about our relationship to water.
Local youth and community organizers decided on the content and local artists brought the images to life. We portrayed Water Warriors taking steps to and showed some of the real threats that the ocean and freshwater are facing through trash, polution, waste, dams, corporate privitization, and plastic bottling. Youth are painted in the center, larger than life, because we see them as bigger than the problems and able to impact the future of the planet.
