Got Aloha for a Teacher?
Aloha, this is my first post on Kanu Hawaii and I would like to share something with those of you who are like minded about sustainability here on the islands. First off I am student currently studying on the mainland California, however, being born and raised on the island of Oahu I would like to share with those back home a little project I recently did in environmental studies class. Its called the "lifestyle project" where the objective is to find largest(s) of your Carbon Footprint then, for a month you(because it your lifestyle) work towards reducing those sources as much as possible. Note that this is a resource for someone who would like to be able to actually measure how big their carbon footprint is and also how much a few changes could reduce it. That is why I am sharing this with the Kanu Hawaii community and also to anyone else who looks to reduce their dependence on all unsustainable practices.
Understand that once you begin this project it takes commitment from yourself to follow through with the necessary step towards maintaining that sort of lifestyle as well as the time required to research what best option you have to make sustainable changes in your lifestyle.
For those who do take the lifestyle project I think if not before, then after, you will definitely after see all the countless ways we waste excessively in our day to day lives but more importantly the ways in which we can correct those same problems. aloha and malama da aina.
