HI-5 Bin Making Workshop 12/15 at Kapolei Farmers' Market

Dec 2, 2011 by Rachel Harvey

Get your pliers and gloves ready!

Our friends at Eating in Public and the Malama Learning Center are helping to host a HI-5 Recycling Bin making workshop for the No Waste Challenge. Spots are limited so please take a moment to RSVP by email to sayo@malamalearningcenter.org.

Eating in Public designed these "Anarchist Bins" (hint: they are anarchist because they are not public nor private, belonging to no one and everyone) to encourage recycling and make it easier for those who collect bottles and cans in public spaces. They are putting them everywhere, and now WE can too. Check out the group's Facebook page and photos @Eating in Public HI-5 Recycling Bins. The Hi-5 bin project is sponsored by the Hawaii People's Fund.

We held a bin making workshop last year for Plastic Free Kailua, and the bins were a hit!
