Aloha, Kauai Animal Education Center serves as the only farm animal rescue on Kauai. As a nonprofit, family-run organization, we are currently caring for 16 species of animals over 160 in all. These animals live in habitats that are safe, secure, and meet their development needs to thrive mentally & physically.The 15 acres of land not utilized by the animals grow native, medicinal & edible plants. These plants are to produce food for the animals, become a teaching tool for our community, and encourage native species to thrive.The tasks needed to help are broad and cover nearly every skill set from behind the scenes to on the ground. From daily activities to once-a-month services.In Person Opportunities include: Animal husbandry, landscape maintenance, gardening, habitat building & upkeep, painting, weeding, carpentry, mechanic, weedeating, mowing, stream restoration. Tending to the daily animals & plant care. Dress comfortable to work on a farm.
