Join us for ‘Ohana Volunteer Day!
Bring the whole family for a morning of volunteering in Waimea Valley. Work projects will be tending to the grounds, cultural sites, and gardens in the Valley, and are suitable for all ages and abilities. As the name suggests, these volunteer workdays are perfect for families or groups with younger children, but all are welcome.
The schedule for the morning will be:
- 9:00am Volunteers arrive and sign in
- 9:15am Overview of Waimea Valley and Oli
- 9:30am Arrive at project site and begin work
- 11:30am Wrap up project
Gloves, training and tools will be provided. For their generosity and assistance, volunteers earn free entry into the Waimea Valley for the day.

All ages are welcome. Any volunteers under 18 will need to have a parent or guardian accompany them to volunteer. Work will be outdoors and in the elements. Group of up to 20 are invited to join us on any of our community volunteer events. Larger groups should contact the volunteer coordinator at volunteers@waimeavalley.net to RSVP or to schedule an exclusive volunteer event.

About the organizer
Waimea Valley is looking for individuals and groups to help us mālama Waimea. Volunteers are essential to the care and maintenance of the Valley which includes over 350 acres of botanical gardens and several Hawaiian cultural sites. Join us for a morning of giving back to this beautiful and historic valley. After the project, volunteers are invited to enjoy the rest of the day exploring and enjoying the Valley.
Our ʻOhana Volunteer Days are from 9-11:30am and are open to all ages. Mālama Māla events are 9am-12:30pm. Some projects for Mālama Māla events may not be suitable for younger children. We ask that volunteers be over the age of 12.
