About Me

Born and raised in Honolulu, I come from a large, loving, local Japanese family from Manoa Valley. I am grateful for the opportunity to work at the University of Hawai'i (UHM) and am thrilled to coordinate programs for first-year students. At UHM, I also work with peer mentors and am thankful for all that these amazing students teach me.

Why I Love Hawaii

There's no place like home: shakas on the highway, Go 'Bows forever, chasing rainbows, our kupuna, hula, local potlucks, Mom’s mango bread, Dad’s tropical garden, May Day programs, lychee season, coco puffs, Waimanalo Beach, Waiola Shave Ice, winter wave watching, New Year firecrackers, reading under a palm tree, making Longs a part of my day, KIKU and KBFD, endless summers, the aloha spirit… Lucky we live Hawaií!

Interests

Spending time with family and friends, experimenting in the kitchen, working on family history projects, kanikapila and karaoke sessions, music, movies, poetry, blogging, trying to figure out the "speeds" on my bike, and stopping to smell the plumeria!
