Malama Mentors is a school club under the non-profit organization, Common Grace. Our job as mentors to our mentees is to Hoʻoikaika Pilina (Strengthening Relationships) with our kids. Every Monday after school, students from Aiea High School go to Aiea Elementary. We do indoor and outdoor activities with them, from board games to outdoor sports. And if needed, we also tutor! For Earth Month, the Aiea High Team planned activities for our mentees to do! They start the month by doing an Earth Day Pledge. Throughout April, they will do arts and crafts and educational lessons on how to protect the earth. On the last Monday of Earth Month, an activity to end off strong, mentors and mentees will work together to use recycled materials like a milk carton, to create a plant for them to take home!
