Diamond Head State Monument: Volunteer Docent Training


DLNR: State Parks: Diamond Head State Monument

If you can see yourself as a volunteer at Diamond Head State Monument then join us for this volunteer training! This is a training day open to the public. Anyone interested in becoming a volunteer can come and learn about the unique geology, ecosystem, culture and history of Diamond Head State Monument. There are many different ways to volunteer, but all involve interacting with the public: on the trail, in the picnic and comfort station area, or as a greeter at the toll booth near the Circle and Trolley gardens. If you enjoy the training and decide you would like to become a regular volunteer then a staff member will work with you for several days until you are comfortable taking on a regularly scheduled three hour shift.

Activities: Hiking. Please be aware that lunch is not provided!

What to Bring: Closed toed shoes, bring your own water, and a snack.

Where to Meet: Diamond Head State Monument. Parking is free with presentation of a Hawaii state ID. The group will meet at the Diamond Head State Monument park sign near the visitor center/gift shop.
