Mentor – Surf Based Mentor Program


Surfrider Foundation – Oahu Chapter

We are currently accepting applications for Mentors for our Summer Surf Sessions!

Through our holistic, ocean-based, experiential mentoring programs, we engage youth facing barriers by using surfing as a metaphor for rising to life’s challenges and making choices that support them in thriving in all areas of life! As a mentor you’ll work in both the one-on one and group setting with your mentee. Staff will be there to support and guide you as you need! We will provide the guided activities and equipment for each session.

Program dates:

  • Saturdays June 10 – July 29
  • Time: 8 am – 12 pm
  • Canoes Surf Break, Waikiki

Requirements:

  • Be 22+ years old and have a passion for helping youth.
  • Commit to a 4-hour block of time for 8 Saturday’s.
  • Attend a Mentor Orientation training – Saturday 3 June.
  • Be comfortable and confident in the water to offer basic surf training.
  • Complete a FREE finger-printed background check and be in good standing
