Tax-Aide Volunteer Prospect

Description

AARP Foundation Tax-Aide has been around for nearly 50 years, providing assistance to all taxpayers, especially those 50 and older who can’t afford a tax preparation service. We understand that retirement or other life changes can make taxes a little more complicated, and we’re here to help taxpayers get the credits and deductions they’ve eared. We’re looking for compassionate and friendly individuals to join our team of local volunteers. If you’re interested in making a difference in your community, we’ve got a role for you.

Key Responsibilities

There are many types of volunteer roles for you! Client Facilitators welcome taxpayers, help organize their paperwork and manage overall flow of service. Tax Counselors work with taxpayers directly, filling out tax returns and helping them find the deductions and credits they’ve earned. Experience isn’t necessary- we provide training and IRS certification on the latest tax law, forms and software. Technology Coordinators manage computer equipment, ensure taxpayer data is secure, and provide technical assistant to volunteers at multiple sites. Leadership and Administrative volunteers make sure program operations run smoothly, manage volunteers, track site activities and maintain quality control. Communications Coordinators help promote the program to keep it going strong. We have a need for bilingual speakers in all roles, especially dedicated interpreters who can assist other volunteers.

Training

We provide training and continued support in a welcoming environment. Become part of our team, bringing peace of mind and economic benefits to many while making a making a difference in your own community.
