Hawaii Children’s Theatre

At HCT we feel very lucky to attract the amazing and talented staff and volunteers we have! It definitely takes a village to put on these amazing programs and we love to work with teachers in the arts and artists and technicians who love to teach.Theater programs benefit youth in so many ways, including:

  • Helping young people grow in self-confidence, ability and maturity
  • Teaching creative problem solving skills
  • Developing critical thinking
  • Encouraging cooperation
  • Fostering peer acceptance, mutual respect
  • Teaching self-worth
  • It is rewarding and fun
  • Encouraging responsibility and self-organization
  • Teaching self esteem
  • Helping to connect with others
  • Creating a sense of community
  • Teaching empathy and understanding for others
  • Acquiring “triple threat” theater skills (singing, dancing, acting) and technical skills related to theatre
We hope that you will join us in creating these benefits for youth island-wide!
