Bilingual Volunteers – ALL ISLANDS! Sponsor a Kupuna: Deliver Their Essentials

Our Kupuna

We are looking for bilingual volunteers to sponsor one kūpuna in your community who do not have family on island to look out for them. A Volunteer who can speak conversational Cantonese, Japanese, Korean, or Ilocano are preferred. We are hoping to improve our outreach to make these lasting connections throughout each island of Hawaii. As a sponsor, you would call them once a week, see if they need any groceries, household items or help picking up their medication – you would shop for the groceries once every other week (kūpuna would reimburse you for expenses incurred). If you are healthy — have not tested positive for COVID-19 nor currently have any symptoms such as fever, cough, etc. — and can help assist a kupuna in your community with getting groceries/medication/supplies, please visit our website to sign up: https://www.ourkupuna.com/volunteer. Of if you’d prefer to speak with one of our administrative volunteers to learn more, please call 808-225-0073.We ask our volunteers to pass a background check, and have a valid driver’s license and current car insurance.
