Volunteers for Kupuna in Honolulu

Our Kupuna

We are looking for volunteers to sponsor one kūpuna in your community who do not have family on island to look out for them. We are hoping to improve our outreach to make these lasting connections throughout each island of Hawaii, especially communities including Honolulu. As a sponsor, you would call them once a week, see if they need any groceries, household items or help picking up their medication – you would shop for the groceries once every other week (kūpuna would reimburse you for expenses incurred). If you are healthy — have not tested positive for COVID-19 nor currently have any symptoms such as fever, cough, etc. — and can help assist a kupuna in your community with getting groceries/medication/supplies, please visit our website to sign up: https://www.ourkupuna.com/volunteer. Of if you’d prefer to speak with one of our administrative volunteers to learn more, please call 808-225-0073.We ask our volunteers to pass a background check, and have a valid driver’s license and current car insurance.*It is an added benefit if you are able to speak different languages as many Kūpuna feel more comfortable speaking in their native language! *
