Become a NAMI Hawaiʻi Volunteer:
Join us in working together to improve the lives of people affected by mental illnesses.
We are looking for dedicated, self starters who want to impact our community.
THE BEST WAY TO LEARN HOW YOU CAN GET INVOLVED IS TO PLUG IN.
Join a class, support group, walk, or other program and get acquainted with our programs! Ask if you can become mentored be a volunteer!
We hold annual state trainings for various NAMI programs that will train and prepare you to lead NAMI courses, but having the first-hand experience with our programs and having a trained leader mentor you will be the fastest and most direct way to volunteer
Here are some areas where volunteers are needed:
Statewide
Speakers who have experience with mental health conditions
Legislative Advocacy join the advocacy committee
Social Media post creation / management
Start a NAMI on Campus Club (for students or staff advisors in local high schools and colleges)
Start a Faithnet in your church or faith group
Mental Health Awareness Day at work, school or church
Big Island
Guest speakers – F2F, Ending the Silence, etc.
Tech Assistance (Zoom) – for classes and website
NAMIWalks volunteers
Program Leaders / Teachers – for upcoming classes and support groups. If interested NAMI will certify you!
Kauaʻi
Support Group Mentee
Social Media Manager
Outreach Coordination
