Book store helpers

Maui Friends of the Library

Maui Friends of the Library always needs help in our used bookstores!

They are located and open to the public at three different locations.  Queen Kaahumanu Center in Kahului, Lipoa St. in Kihei and in Pu’unene by the old school building.

Volunteers may choose their duties.  These may include the following:

  • Operate a simple cash register
  • Put books on shelves and keep things tidy
  • Assist shoppers in finding books on the shelves

We are an all-volunteer organization founded to promote and assist Maui libraries. Our greatest fundraising efforts are based on the operation of used bookstores: we take donations of pre-loved books, CDs and DVDs, and sell them at reasonable prices — with all proceeds going to the needs of our local libraries! It’s a win-win: great prices on media for the community, and much-needed funding for each library branch in Maui County.
