Description
Have fun and make a difference for homeless dogs and cats. Join our team of volunteers, an essential part of our community.
We continue to build volunteer program and develop new volunteer opportunities help us accomplish our goals and tend to the animals in our care. Volunteers are needed for a variety of positions, but our greatest needs are helping keep our shelter and kennels clean, socializing with our animals, and administrative tasks such as assembling adoption packets.

For community service requests, please send your information and service requirement to volunteer@oahuspca.org.
- Volunteers must be at least 6 years old.
- Volunteers ages 6-15 must apply with a parent or legal guardian and must be accompanied by their parent at all times (limited positions available).
- Volunteers 14-15 years old can volunteer without a guardian after completing a minimum of 100 supervised volunteer hours.
- Volunteers ages 16-17 must have written approval from a parent or legal guardian
- Volunteers must be able to commit a minimum of 10 hours/month for at least 3 month
- Volunteers must be able to work respectfully and nonviolently in a high-energy environment, alongside other human beings of various ages, and animals of all breeds, sizes, and temperaments
- Every volunteer must complete an application and attend training
- Dog walkers at the shelter must be at least 18 years old.

About the organizer
We rescue animals suffering from abuse, neglect and abandonment all over the island each day. More than 15 dogs and cats are rescued, rehabilitated and re-homed each week. We care for approximately 45 dogs and 75 cats per day, including spay/neutering, micro chipping and medical & behavioral rehabilitation in preparation for adoption.
