We are looking for volunteers who are comfortable being active to assist with food distribution.
Volunteer assignments: Pre-loading Produce: We need volunteers to pre-load food/dairy/bread into shopping carts.
Running Orders: We need volunteers to retrieve client orders from warehouse shelves.
Loading Team: We need volunteers to load client orders into clients’ cars.
Traffic Monitoring/Directing: We need volunteers to assist with directing traffic of vehicles that arrive for order pick-up, communicating order numbers to our warehouse, supporting the flow of traffic because we are located in a residential area.
Warehouse Support: We need volunteers with forklift/pallet jack experience to help organize the inventory in our warehouse.
Drivers: We are looking for safe drivers to assist with picking up food or donations (CDL not required).
Administrative Support: We need volunteers to assist with helping clients fill phone orders, marketing support, social media management, handwriting cards, and client outreach.
The Pantry
About the organizer
The Pantry by Feeding Hawaiʻi Together provides consistent, reliable access to healthy food for families across Oʻahu. Through our year-round, online, choice-based model, families are able to select the groceries that best meet their needs, and our team packs and distributes those orders each week.
We focus on delivering high-quality, nutritious food, with approximately 70% of what we distribute consisting of fresh produce, dairy, eggs, and frozen proteins. This ensures families are not just receiving food, but the ingredients needed to nourish themselves and their keiki.
As demand continues to rise, we serve as a steady and reliable resource for our community, especially during times of uncertainty. Whether during economic hardship, natural disasters, or disruptions to federal benefits, The Pantry remains operational and responsive, helping ensure families have access to the most basic need: food.
Beyond distribution, we are working to strengthen long-term food security in Hawaiʻi through partnerships with local farmers and the development of our Garden and Education Center, connecting our community more deeply to local food systems and ʻāina-based learning.
