HoMA 2024 Docent Program – Applications Open until July 5th

Honolulu Museum of Art

The Honolulu Museum of Art is recruiting a new docent class to start this fall! Applications will be accepted June 7 to July 5.

If you love art and serving your community, consider becoming a volunteer docent. Our specially trained docents work with visitors in our galleries and courtyards to bring new dimensions to art experiences.

Docent training will be held from Sept. 3 to Feb. 11 at the museum, mainly on Monday and Tuesday mornings with some exceptions. It will focus on preparing trainees to lead our See Art Make Art school tours as well as adult tours. See the attached job description in the application form for full list of training dates, as well as desired traits and qualifications.

The museum aims to recruit 25 new docents to join its current team of almost 40 active volunteer educators. Accepted applicants will be notified by Aug. 12.

If you are interested in becoming a docent, complete the application at myhoma.org/docentapplication by Fri., Jul. 5, at 5pm. Accepted applicants will be notified by Aug. 12.

See the attached job description for details, or go to myhoma.org/newdocentprogram.
