Inspire Change & Mentor Our Tomorrow! Kauai

Big Brothers Big Sisters Hawaii

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Hawai’is Community-Based Program matches a Mentor (adult) with a Youth (age 6-16) based on geographic location, common interests, and likelihood to develop a friendship. We ask Mentors to make at least a one-year commitment to meeting with the youth they are matched with, 2-3 times per month for a few hours at a time. These meetings can be anything from teaching a new skill or how to play a new game to just hanging out and talking story.

In the past, matches have participated in activities such as fishing and hiking, playing soccer, going to movies, arts and crafts, playing guitar, or going to the beach. A majority of the youth in our program come from single-parent homes and can benefit from having a good role model in their lives. Mentors provide an outlet for youth to express themselves and enjoy being a kid.

Enrollment into the program includes: Completing an application & online training In-person interview Be able to pass background, fingerprinting, and reference checks Have reliable transportation and a safe driving record Take the next step and empower a Maui youth today! Call Char at (808)298-4781 if you have any questions.
