KEY Project Thanksgiving Imu – Distribution Day


Imu Unloading Laulima Line & Runners

THIS POSITION IS PHYSICALLY DEMANDING. Please use your best judgment to determine your fit for this role. You must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds safely, stand on an incline , and work swiftly as a team. You will be receiving turkeys/food items loaded into bins (total weight may be up to 50 pounds) to pass down from the imu to the receiving tables via a laulima line. You will not be unloading items directly from the imu and will follow direction and guidance originating from our imu crew lead. and KEY Project staff. This shift will also include bin runners who will be responsible for taking emptied bins back to the imu crew in a quick manner. **Note: This is an extremely time sensitive post so you must be onsite and ready on time (6:30AM) as we will need all hands on deck to unload as soon as the imu is ready to do so. Receiving & Distribution Tables

This position requires standing and movement for an extended period of time. You must be able to lift 30 pounds safely, be able to handle higher temp items, and understand the possibility of getting dirty. This role will receive the turkeys/food items after they have been delivered by the laulima line, sort them numerically by tag number, and place them in the proper corresponding table zone. You may also assist as a bin runner to return empty bins back to the imu crew in a quick manner. Once the drive thru pick up begins, this role will listen attentively to the claim ticket numbers being called out, will locate the item(s) if on their table, and will identify themselves for the distribution runners to come pick up the item(s). You will also be responsible for waving ti leaf fly swatters and keeping flies away for food safety purposes, and may be required to act as a distribution runner periodically. This post requires strong attention to detail and the ability to handle a fast pace. **Note: This is an extremely time sensitive post so you must be onsite and ready on time (6:30AM). You will be responsible for transporting the food item(s) being picked up from the tag table to the receipientʻs waiting vehicle, and assisting with proper and safe placement inside the vehicle. This role requires a strong attention to detail, ability to work at a fast pace, and initiative to verify where the community member would like the item(s) placed, opening doors/trunks, etc. Once the pick up line is closed, you will also assist in cleanup and break down of event. This role will be responsible for effectively gaining drivers’ attention and directing them to the appropriate waiting area for their item(s) to be delivered to their vehicle. You will effectively direct cars to move up in line as needed and ask drivers to remain in their vehicles. This role requires confidence in traffic direction and a friendly attitude.
