Removing the Invasive Plants

Lokelani ‘Ohana

We need help removing the invasive plants on a regular basis. Maintaining an organic farm with natural support requires a lot of manual work to constantly remove the invasive plants that are being blown in by the wind and dropped in by the birds. “Laulima” is the Hawaiian word which means ‘many hands/contributing.’ And we are eternally grateful to the many volunteers who have made our work lighter through laulima.

One needs to wear good strong shoes. We provide gloves. Bring your hat and sunscreen. We’ll provide hand picks and larger picks, a sawzall, a ho’o, and other tools. We will provide refreshments, as well (something to eat and drink).
