Volunteer with La’akea Village: Country Store, Music, Dance, Ukelele and Guitar

Country Store: Wednesdays, 10 am-2 pm
Our Country Store needs a Volunteer for Wednesdays from 10 am-2 pm at Laʻakea Village!
It is a weekly commitment and you can commit for a month at a time (or longer). Whatever works best for you!
We have a simple digital scan system for selling our seasonal produce and items; very user-friendly and we will train you. Minimal cash handling is required.
Our produce varies greatly with the seasons but ranges from papayas, avocados, leafy greens, beets, potatoes, mangos, herbs, and non-perishable items all locally grown and sourced on Maui.
We have an on-site day program for adults with disabilities and highly encourage participants and staff to complete various skill-building tasks in the store.
Having our Country Store open allows them to interact with the public and practice retail skills.
Open the doors, put out the produce, and enjoy interacting with the public..we will provide training. Mahalo for your consideration to enhance the Maui community!
Music and Dance
Laʻakea Village would love to add music and/or dance to our weekly activities.
If you are willing to provide ZUMBA, hula, line dancing classes or you want to fill us with music , please inquire here ….our adults with differing abilities enjoy music and dance and would love to learn a new dance move or enjoy your musical talents! Bring your creative talents to share with us at Laʻakea Village in Paia.
College students are welcome–you don’t have to be a professional 🙂
Ukelele and Guitar
Aloha, in our Day Program we support adulst with special needs who seem to thrive with music.
We are hoping someone would be willing to share basic ukelele skills and /or guitar skills with one or two of our adults.
You could also come and play and sing to share your gift of music…
