Volunteer ED Assistant – 6-Week Assignment
Objective:
The Volunteer ED Assistant will provide administrative support to help streamline communication and organization for What Makes You Feel Beautiful. This role supports the Executive Director (ED) in managing outreach and connections with community partners and stakeholders.
Time Commitment:
- 6-week assignment
- 4 hours per week
Key Responsibilities:
- Outreach and Partner Engagement
- Assist the ED in reaching out to potential partners, sponsors, and collaborators for the organization’s projects.
- Draft and send follow-up emails to maintain engagement with partners and stakeholders.
- Donor and Sponsor Support
- Help organize donor lists and track communications with current and potential sponsors.
- Assist in creating thank-you letters and recognition for donors and sponsors.
- Resource Organization
- Organize and maintain a central document repository for grants, donor reports, and sponsorship materials, making it easier to access key information.
Qualifications:
- Passion for the mission and values of What Makes You Feel Beautiful.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Google Suite, or other basic office tools.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
Supervision:
Reports to the Executive Director and collaborates with other staff and volunteers as needed.

About the organizer
What Makes You Feel Beautiful is a community based organization that’s dedicated to fostering self-love throughout every stage and phase of life in girls and women of all ages. With a special emphasis on supporting those aged 13-19 from economically marginalized backgrounds in Maui County. We provide transformative experiences through our workshops focused on self-esteem, skill building, body positivity, and self-care, alongside offering mentorship, summer internships, educational resources, and outreach awareness campaigns.
Our organization places a special emphasis on supporting girls, especially those from Maui who are at a higher risk due to factors such as poverty, homelessness, minority status with limited support, and restricted access to programs. What Makes You Feel Beautiful is committed to addressing these challenges by providing girls with essential life skills to overcome obstacles and thrive.
Through the incentives and resources we offer, our organization strives to instill self-love, confidence, and empowerment in girls through our mentorship programs. We provide educational opportunities, paid mentoring internships and practical tools that equip girls with the necessary knowledge and skills to successfully navigate life and overcome difficulties. Our ultimate goal is to make a positive impact on the lives of girls, empowering them to realize their full potential and contribute to the reduction of homelessness, poverty, and other obstacles in Hawai’i.
