Friends of Kamalani & Lydgate Park

What We Do

Every Saturday morning, we meet at Morgan Ponds at Lydgate Beach Park on the east side of Kauai to maintain and preserve the beach and surrounding area. We meet near the lifeguard tower at 8:30 am and finish at approximately 10:30 am. We serve coffee and treats during cleanup and enjoy some time hanging out with friends. Volunteers can also win prizes in our weekly drawing just for coming out to help.

Be sure to come sign in with us as we track volunteer hours and give them a monetary value, and we have a drawing at 10:30 for all volunteers thanks to Dave Lister and Star 94.3.
* We have gloves and provide tools
* Bring a Water Bottle or Flask, sunscreen, and come make new friends.

The work we do is friendly to all ages and abilities. If you can’t lift anything heavy, perhaps you can rake leaves, pick up trash, or help with snacks and coffee.

We welcome groups of all kinds: families, youth groups, high school groups, church groups, work teams, you name it!

We hope to see you on Saturday!

Who We Are

We are a group of community volunteers, including visitors to our island, who gather every Saturday morning to work together at beach cleanup to maintain and preserve Lydgate Beach Park.  We come from all walks of life to work together to mālama the island we love.

When work is done, we sit and enjoy coffee, water, and a variety of snacks and enjoy community time together.
