Kauai Outrigger Association

What We Do

Our purpose is to promote and encourage participation in Hawaiian canoe racing activities within our island community as well as inter-island and internationally. Our paddling ohana at KOA consists of ten member clubs on the island of Kauai. Each of our clubs will host an event during the racing season. Visit our Races page to learn more about the different events and to access current schedules.

We are the proud sponsor of the Prince Kuhio long distance race. The Prince Kuhio race kicks-off a week-long celebration of the life and contributions of Hawaiian royal Jonah Kūhiō Kalanianaʻole. We are also proud to host the annual Na Pali Challenge – a world-class mixed crew long distance race. The Na Pali Challenge is singularly unique and covers some of the most amazing waters in the world. Visit our Club Finder page and join a club near you to gain the opportunity to be part of the canoe racing community and participate in all of these incredible events.
