Travel Visions Aloha for the Blind

What We Do
Our Mission
Our mission is to illuminate the world for the visually impaired community of Oʻahu by bridging the gap between income and ability levels. Dedicated to fostering empowerment, education, and connection through structured outdoor activities; we address loneliness, isolation, and diminished physical health to improve the quality of life for all participants, regardless of their economic background.
Who We Are
Travel
In the BVI community, “travel” embodies more than mere movement—it signifies a profound journey towards independence and empowerment. With mobility canes, guide dogs, or sighted guides, we embark on a voyage of liberation, reclaiming our right to explore autonomously. Through accessible tools, we discover assurance and self-reliance, nurturing empowerment within our community. Together, with confidence and guidance, we ensure safety, security, and well-being, turning each journey into a testament of resilience.
Vision
The word “Vision” encompasses more than meets the eye. “Vision” represents our aspiration for empowerment and change, extending beyond sight loss to reshape perceptions and foster inclusivity. We envision a world where blindness is understood and accepted, advocating for equality and accessibility. Through our programs and advocacy efforts, we aim to redefine the narrative surrounding vision loss, emphasizing potential rather than limitations. Join us as we collectively pave the way towards a brighter future of dignity and opportunity.
Aloha
Aloha is more than a word—it’s a way of life, embodying love, compassion, and unity. It encapsulates our core values, fostering a community where all feel valued and supported. With Aloha as our guiding principle, we spread kindness and enrich lives, fostering a world where empathy reigns supreme. Let’s journey forward together, embracing warmth and compassion, as we create a brighter future for all.
For the Blind
At Travel Visions Aloha, we are not just an organization serving the BVI community—we are the BVI community. Comprised of individuals who understand the challenges and triumphs firsthand, we are a team of BVI individuals dedicated to building an organization for our peers. With intimate knowledge of the needs and aspirations within our community, we are committed to creating inclusive spaces and meaningful opportunities for all. Together, we stand as advocates, allies, and agents of change, ensuring that every voice is heard, and every individual is empowered to thrive. Join us as pioneers to reshaping the narrative surrounding blindness and visual impairment, forging a future of equality, accessibility, and acceptance for all.
