Spring 2023 Remote Social Media Volunteer Intern

How can nonprofits use social media to create social change? This remote volunteer internship is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience with digital tools and trends while helping advance solutions to our planet’s critical issues. Hours are flexible, with a minimum of 8 hours expected each week. 

 

Volunteer Internship Responsibilities:

  • Build and manage positive social media engagement
  • Create, communicate, and promote events on Instagram

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Able to work independently and proficient in time management and organization
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Experience with graphic design and creative communications
  • Demonstrated ability to manage tasks and execute plans
  • Passion for the mission and values of Understory Alliance
  • Proficient in Google Suite applications, Canva, and Instagram

Our project creates and cares for small, ecologically sustainable, and immersive multifunctioning forest systems, which we call Māla Lā`au, UA’s take on a forest garden.
 
Our forest garden will predominantly comprise native plant species, appropriate noninvasive food trees, and culturally significant plants. This pocket-sized forest garden is easily accessible enough to be woven into the fabric of our everyday lives while growing in balance with and including people.
